Mumper joined the University of Georgia as its Vice Provost in 2014 following a national search. As Vice Provost, he operationalizes major initiatives of the Provost’s Office, and advises the Provost on matters and policies relating to academic, faculty and student affairs. The Vice Provost also collaborates with Deans, Vice Presidents, Associate Provosts and units that report to the Provost's Office. Mumper is UGA’s point person for accreditation and serves as UGA’s Accreditation Liaison to SACSCOC. Mumper chairs several university-wide committees including the UGA Arts Council, the UGA Interprofessional Education Leadership Committee, and the Executive Committee for UGA’s Environmental Health and Safety Management System. He also oversees five institutes, centers and offices that report to the Provost’s Office including the Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness (OAIE). OAIE is responsible for UGA’s accreditation, the academic and support unit review process at UGA, and for monitoring progress towards UGA’s 2020 Strategic Plan. Miller joined the Provost's Office in 2003. She is responsible for the fiscal affairs of the Provost's Office, including support for budget development and financial administration of UGA’s schools, colleges and other units.
Associate Provost for Academic Programs219 New College
Amstutz was appointed Associate Provost for Academic Programs in 2013. She is responsible for overseeing annual institutional academic programs such as Commencement, Honors Day and the Charter Lecture Series; developing new academic programs and initiatives; and benchmarking UGA's academic policies with peer and aspirational institutions. An adjunct assistant professor of English, she holds a Ph.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis and previously served for 16 years in the Office of the President, first as assistant to the president for academic affairs and then six years as chief of staff.
Sarah F. Covert
Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs225 New College

Covert was appointed Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs in 2015, and her position was elevated to the Associate Provost level in January 2016. Covert directs the Office of Faculty Affairs, which handles faculty-related records and policies including appointments, promotion, tenure, instructor credentials, and UGA Elements. The Office of Faculty Affairs also offers programs in support of faculty and leadership development. Covert has been a faculty member in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources since 1993 and served as its Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2009-2014.

Richardson joined the Provost’s Office in 2014 and previously served as Senior Human Resources Managing Consultant for the UGA Search Group, where he managed executive-level searches for the university. He earned his bachelor’s degree in religion and a master’s degree in public administration from UGA. His responsibilities include providing staff support for administrative and faculty initiatives, drafting remarks and official correspondence, supervising the Provost's office support staff, and serving as the main point of contact and liaison with internal and external constituencies on the Provost’s behalf.

Fahmy joined the Provost’s Office in 2012 and previously served as News Director for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from UGA and a master’s degree in science and technology journalism from Texas A&M. His responsibilities include overseeing external communications for the Provost’s Office and its initiatives.

Williams joined the Provost’s Office in 2014 following an 13-year career as a reporter at the Gwinnett Daily Post. In addition to producing UGA’s Diversity Newsletter and the Arts at UGA newsletter, she provides communications support for the UGA Arts Council and several other campus initiatives.

Fink’s duties include providing administrative and project support for the office, scheduling meetings and booking travel for the Provost, event planning and support for central classroom scheduling. She joined the Provost’s Office in 2015 after working as a human resources specialist for UGA Food Services. Fink graduated from UGA with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Frye's duties include providing general administrative support for the office, scheduling meetings for the Vice Provost, managing all routine financial transactions, support for the Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness, support for the Arts Council and assisting with various research projects. He joined the Provost’s Office in 2016 from the Army ROTC office, where he was the university liaison in charge of all UGA-related administrative functions. Michael graduated from UGA with a bachelor’s degree in international affairs.
Reed joined the Provost’s Office in 2016 as a Student Liaison. Reed is a fourth-year student from Alpharetta majoring in marketing and international business with a minor in Spanish. In addition, he is pursuing a certificate in legal studies. He is currently involved with the Georgia Recruitment Team and the Alumni Association’s Student Alumni Council, where he serves as vice president. In the past he has served as marketing chair and as an editor for UGA’s official traditions handbook, “The G Book.” Reed is also a student in the Honors Program, where he serves as an ambassador. As a Student Liaison, his responsibilities include serving as a first point of contact for student groups, planning and scheduling student events for the Provost and advising the Provost on student issues and concerns.
Lilian joined the Provost's Office in 2016 as a Student Liaison. She is a third-year student from Iowa City, Iowa majoring in Romance languages while working toward a master's in public administration through the AB/MPA program. She currently serves as the president and co-captain of the Women's Ultimate Program, is the civic policy discipline editor for the Journal of Undergraduate Research Opportunities, and has been involved with Whatever It Takes at UGA and the Athens Area Humane Society. Her responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for student groups, planning and scheduling student events for the Provost, and advising the Provost on student issues and concerns.
