Article XIV: Amendment to the Statutes

Section 1

The University Council shall have power to recommend amendments to these Statutes to the President provided that the proposed revisions are approved by a majority of the votes cast by members at two successive meetings of the Council. If the President refuses to transmit the recommended amendments to the Chancellor and the Board of Regents, the University Council may take action in accordance with the provisions of Article XIV of these Statutes.

Section 2

The University Faculty shall have the power to recommend amendments to these Statutes to the President provided that the proposed revisions are accompanied by a petition of support signed by a majority of the faculty with academic rank. If the President refuses to transmit the recommended amendments to the Chancellor and the Board of Regents, the University Faculty, through a designated representative, may appeal to the Board of Regents.[[University Statutes, Article XV.]]
