The 2025 – 2026 Presidential Hiring Initiative targeted instructional and research priorities to address student demand and enrollment growth, while continuing to strengthen the university’s research enterprise, building on previous successful hiring initiatives in data science and artificial intelligence; integrative precision agriculture; and brain and behavioral health, along with new areas of emphasis, such as health and wellness; risk and resilience; and arts and humanist inquiry. UGA targeted the recruitment of up to 60 faculty through this initiative.
