Toni P. Rogers named Associate Vice President for Academic Fiscal Affairs

I am pleased to announce that Toni P. Rogers has been named Associate Vice President for Academic Fiscal Affairs, effective January 1. With nearly 25 years of service to UGA, she brings extensive financial and human resources experience to this critical leadership position.

As AVP for Academic Fiscal Affairs, Toni will direct the Office of Academic Fiscal Affairs, which provides oversight for all financial and human resource affairs for units that report directly to the Provost’s Office, including the Vice President for Instruction. This position provides oversight and assists in academic financial planning and execution of hiring, retention, and other initiatives, and assists schools and colleges in academic fiscal matters. She will work closely with the Vice Provosts and Associate Provosts and will be a key member of the Provost’s Office leadership team, reporting directly to me.

Toni has served as Director of Instruction Fiscal Affairs in the Office of Academic Fiscal Affairs since 2003. She previously was a business manager in the Office of University Architects and an accountant in the General Accounting Department. Toni holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University’s Institute of Higher Education and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Terry College.

She currently serves on the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan Compliance Certification Team and the Student Technology Fee Committee, and was a member of the 2019 cohort of the University’s Women’s Staff Leadership Institute.

Toni’s appointment concludes an internal search that was assisted by a 10-member advisory committee chaired by Dr. Meg Amstutz, Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Chief of Staff in the Provost’s Office. I’d like to thank the committee and all of the outstanding applicants. I would also like to extend my deep appreciation to Chris Miller, who leads the Office of Academic Fiscal Affairs and will retire at the end of this month after nearly 30 years of service to UGA.

Please join me in congratulating Toni on being named AVP for Academic Fiscal Affairs.
