Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for matters related to the University’s institutional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and for planning, evaluation, and assessment processes that ensure institutional effectiveness at the University of Georgia. 

To fulfill accreditation responsibilities, the office oversees and coordinates the decennial and fifth-year reaffirmations by SACSCOC, monitors the university’s ongoing compliance with accreditation standards, documents student achievement in keeping with federal requirements, and tracks specialized accreditation of university programs.

To ensure institutional effectiveness, the office facilitates institutional strategic planning, coordinates academic and support unit program reviews, and facilitates the development and use of data systems and analytic tools that support decision-making

The Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness reports to the vice provost for academic affiars.
