Faculty Honors and Awards

Faculty honors and awards recognize and promote a culture of academic excellence at the University of Georgia. These honors, including professorships, are a signal to our peers, our students, and external stakeholders that faculty at the birthplace of public higher education in America are among the very best in their fields.

The University of Georgia recognizes excellence in each component of its tripartite mission of teaching, research, and service. Details on honors and awards can be accessed via the following links:

Faculty are strongly encouraged to pursue these institutional honors and awards, as well as national and international honors and awards that align with their career stage and achievements. In many cases, the process for preparing dossiers that enable faculty to compete for internal and external awards is similar. For information on prestigious and competitive external awards, please visit the Office of Research website.

Before nominating yourself or a colleague for one of the special professorships, please check with your dean's office to determine if an earlier nomination due date has been established for nominations coming from your unit.
