As Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Professor Jeanette Taylor assists with all matters of academic administration, policy and planning, and acts on behalf of the Provost when he is not available. She also chairs the UGA Arts Council and oversees the Georgia Museum of Art, McBee Institute for Higher Education, and the Performing Arts Center. With the Dean and Director of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, she jointly oversees the UGA Griffin campus.
 
Professor Taylor’s academic home is in the Department of Psychology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to joining UGA, Professor Taylor was serving as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida State University. She served for six years as the chair of the Department of Psychology before her role as an associate dean.
 
Professor Taylor is a clinical psychologist and has an international reputation for her work examining factors that relate to the development and comorbidity of substance use disorders and personality disorders. She has examined psychophysiological factors as well as personality traits and environmental factors in her work. She held funding from the National Institutes of Health for 15 years to support the creation of the Florida State Twin Registry. This registry helped to facilitate her work examining genetic and environmental influences on behavior problems, personality, and reading difficulties in children and adolescents. 
 
Her honors include being elected as a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and selected as a Fellow of the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Leadership Network. She has served the profession as an associate editor of the Journal of Social & Clinical Psychology, as an ad hoc reviewer for two dozen journals, and as an ad hoc reviewer for federal and private grants.
