Reaffirmation of Accreditation 2022

The University of Georgia’s accreditation is reaffirmed on a ten-year cycle by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). UGA’s most recent reaffirmation of accreditation took place in 2021-2022.

Reaffirmation is a multi-year process that comprises two primary components:

  • UGA must demonstrate compliance with the 73 SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation in a Compliance Certification report, and
  • UGA must prepare a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on improving student learning and/or student success.

Commission on Colleges review includes an off-site peer evaluation of compliance, an on-site review and QEP consultation, and a final review by the Commission’s Board of Trustees. For more information about SACSCOC, please see http://www.sacscoc.org/.
