Professional Licensure & Certification

The University of Georgia makes every effort to ensure information about educational requirements for licensure or certification is current; however, state requirements may change. Separate from educational requirements, state licensure boards may require applicants to complete professional examinations, background checks, years of professional experience, residence requirements, training, etc.

Unless otherwise noted on this page or in program-specific enrollment materials, the University’s programs are designed to meet professional licensure and certification requirements in the State of Georgia. Students interested in professional licensure or certification in a state other than Georgia are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to see information and guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements for professional practice prior to enrolling in an educational program.

The University is continuing to work to confirm whether its programs meet the educational requirement for licensure in states outside Georgia. This website is currently being revised and information regarding professional licensure and certification will be available shortly.
