Elizabeth Weeks was named Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs in 2020. In this role, she directs UGA’s Office of Faculty Affairs and works closely with campus leaders on faculty-related policies, processes, and records while also overseeing a robust slate of professional development programming for faculty. Weeks is the Charles H. Kirbo Chair in Law, where she has maintained her academic appointment and continues to teach.

Gayle joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2022. She provides broad support to the OFA team, including serving as the first point of contact for external and internal constituents and assisting with special projects. She provides administrative support for the Associate Provost, including maintaining her calendar as well as setting up meetings and events. Prior to joining OFA, Gayle worked at the Child Development Lab at the University's McPhaul Center for four years in administration.

Covert provides advice on UGA's dual career employment practices, and helps the partners of current and prospective faculty connect with potential employers.  Previously, Covert served in multiple leadership roles at UGA, including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources (2009-2014), Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs (2015-2020), and Interim Associate Provost for Academic Programs (2022).  She was a professor of fungal genetics in the Warnell School for 27 years and continues her affiliattion there as Professor Emeritus.

Mary Carney has served as Director of Programming for Faculty Affairs since 2019. She creates, manages, and delivers a range of programs, including planning for success as a faculty member, effective mentoring, increasing faculty diversity through active and systematic recruitment practices, academic leadership development, and increasing faculty engagement and a sense of community. She holds a courtesy faculty appointment in the  Department of English. She has an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation. She was previously at the University of North Georgia as a Professor of English and Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership.

Harper joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2021 as a Program Coordinator. Her responsibilities include project management for in-person and virtual workshops, events, cohort programs, and other faculty development series and resources. Prior to UGA, she served as the Neurocognitive Disorder Program Manager at Vanderbilt University. She began her career at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where she worked on the curriculum team as the Core Educator Program Manager as well as a team member in Global Health Education. She uses her background in hospitality as a tool when engaging and creating with faculty. She is passionate about the UGA higher education community, organizational culture, and faculty leadership development.

Carly joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2018. As Director of Faculty Affairs Operations, she oversees OFA’s operational functions and campus-wide stakeholder support programs, including UGA Elements. She also serves as the OFA point-person for cross-functional business process development projects related to faculty appointments.  Carly is the primary contact in Faculty Affairs regarding concerns that intersect with Academic Affairs and other UGA/USG policies related to faculty appointments and employment actions. She fosters partnerships with personnel in central offices, as well as hiring and appointment units, to develop new processes and enhance current procedures for the appointment of faculty.

Tina joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2017. She oversees the faculty appointment processing and faculty data management team, while assisting the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs. Additionally, she serves as the point of contact for faculty hiring actions for the Offices of the President, the Provost, the Vice President for Instruction, the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, the Vice President for Research, the Vice President for Student Affairs as well as the Graduate School, the Medical Partnership, Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Law, and the School of Public and International Affairs.

Amy joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2015. She serves as the Faculty Affairs Specialist for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health, and Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Amy handles aspects of faculty hiring appointments for each College and also leads workshops regarding the hiring process for Faculty Affairs Liaisons across campus.

Truitt joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2018. He is the primary contact in the Office of Faculty Affairs for questions concerning faculty data accuracy in OneUSG Connect, as well as annual full-time faculty contract generation. Truitt additionally designs Qualtrics forms and Data Warehouse queries for the Office of Faculty Affairs for various functions, and manages multiple databases and data-sets for the Office of Faculty Affairs internally.

Angie joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in July 2019. As Faculty Affairs Process Lead for Promotion, Tenure, and Special Appointments, she coordinates the annual Promotion and Tenure process as well as manages special appointments and other requests throughout the career lifecycle of a faculty member at the University. Angie serves as the principal point of contact and liaison with internal and external constituencies.
