Community Building
Subject Guides & Resources
The Office of Faculty Affairs amplifies community building across its programming by bringing together faculty and academic leaders in face-to-face and virtual gatherings. We include relationship building as a dimension of our educational development paradigm. Further, we partner with the Center for Teaching and Learning to sponsor two Faculty Learning Communities each academic year. We also invite faculty to form their own communities via sponsorship of Faculty Interest Groups. Incoming faculty gather to enjoy events and workshops during their first year via the Keys to UGA: New Faculty Academy. For further details, explore the links below.
Faculty Interest Groups create a community that organizes itself with faculty-led, informal meetings or events to share ideas for a pre-determined length of time, usually September-May.
These structured communities of practice includes the key goals of building community, engaging in scholarly (evidenced-based) inquiry, and working toward a shared goal.
Keys to UGA is a year-long series of events that provide incoming and early career faculty with resources and information valuable to success. All faculty are welcome.
The University of Georgia’s Well-being Resources provides a broad range of clinical and non-clinical resources to promote student well-being and success, creating a more active, healthy, and successful student body.
