Student Learning Outcomes Assessment

The University of Georgia's success in achieving its overall mission and strategic priorities is to a large extent dependent on the quality and effectiveness of its individual and collective academic programs. Primary responsibility for the content, quality and effectiveness of academic programs lies with faculty.

Responsibility and expectations for assessment of student learning at the University of Georgia are defined in Academic Policy 01.06.003, Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes.

Under this policy, for each individual undergraduate, graduate, and certificate program at the University of Georgia, the respective faculty in the program are responsible for on-going academic program assessment.

For university-wide academic programs, including the General Education Curriculum, the University Curriculum Committee is the responsible faculty body for the assessment of these academic programs.
