New Leader Program
The Office of Faculty Affairs invites campus leaders to register for the fall 2023 New Leader Program. The New Leader Program (NLP) was previously know as New Department Head Training. The title change suggests that not only department heads but also directors, deans, and other academic leaders are welcome. The program introduces newly appointed unit administrators at UGA to important policies and provides them with opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills through the use of interactive discussions and activities.
Participation is expected for department heads, assistant deans, and associate deans who were appointed after September 1, 2022, or who otherwise were unable to participate in their first year of appointment to their current leadership role. Other new campus leaders are encouraged to attend.
To review the 2023 agenda and previous year's agendas, please see below:
Registration requested by Thursday, August 25, 2023. If your appointment begins after this date, your are invited to join this cohort but must let us know via email: ofa-fld@uga.edu.
**If you participate in this program, we will provide you with C.K. Gunsalus's The College Administrator's Survival Guide.
